AB 219 Parent Letter 20-21
During the recent legislative session, Assembly Bill (AB) 219 was passed. AB 219 requires
schools that demonstrate low achievement for English language learners (ELL) to
establish a corrective action plan (CAP) designed to improve student outcomes.
Identification of schools was based upon the most recent annual report of the
statewide system of accountability in English language arts and mathematics and have
been rated in the lowest 30 percent of public schools in Nevada in the achievement of
ELLs.
Cheyenne High School has been identified as subject to the AB 219 CAP requirement.
